Mechanical & Building Services Scope

The project delivered full mechanical services for a major recreation centre including arena, training spaces and support facilities, with emphasis on comfort and life safety.

• Thermal storage based air conditioning system
• Ventilation in ablutions
• Staircase pressurization and smoke ventilation
• Automatic sprinkler installations
• Solar water heating installations
• Wet services and building monitoring system

Key Outcomes & Challenges

• Thermal modelling to optimise air conditioning for a large arena space
• Design of mechanical ventilation for ablutions, stores and circulation spaces
• Integrated life safety systems for smoke control and sprinkler protection
• Resolution of duct lining issues by introducing internal cladding
